Week 8 of Homespun Homeschool: We learned about the Age of Imperialism, read The Pit and the Pendulum, practiced drawing people, continued working on an essay for The Scarlet Letter, finished book 2 of Doctor Mozart (Music Theory), read Inaugural Address (Davis), learned 3rd declension Latin noun endings, read the Gettysburg Address, practiced penmanship, read the Emancipation Proclamation, practiced spelling, studied Latin, learned about chemical bonds, summarized On the Slavery Question, learned about types of seed plants, wrote a paper about King Tut, worked on algebra, read A House Divided, continued memorizing the U.S. presidents, practiced division, leaned about the laws of opposition in Logic, organized issues for Debate (Capital Punishment), led morning assembly in our CC Community, and went to Sky Top Orchards and Jeter Farm, where we ate apple cider doughnuts, picked apples, and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors!
