Week 1 (and year 7!) of Homespun Homeschool: We carried on our tradition of opening schule-tutes filled with school surprises, started Challenge A with our CC community (Field!), learned all about Charlemagne, looked at continents and oceans and made a paper globe, translated Latin phrases, memorized Canada’s territories, provinces and capitals, read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and started an ANI chart, wrote a key word outline for a paper about the Anglo Saxons, started reading Carry On, Mr. Bowditch, drew maps of Narnia from the Pevensie children’s perspective, painted abstract art on tiny canvases, worked on spelling, learned analogy basics, looked at the timeline from creation to the Mycenaens, learned the 8 parts of speech, started Pre-Algebra math, started riding a bike without Dad (Francis!), and celebrated the start to the school year with tacos at Nixtaco!
