Week 10 of Homespun Homeschool: We studied Latin, worked on algebra, started writing an essay on Billy Budd, learned about Japan’s Heian Period, ran through Debate scenarios with the class, played Number Knockout, started reading Through the Gates of Splendor, wrote a paper about King Ashurbanipal’s Library, read The Men of Maine, used household materials to make chemical reactions, read The Man with the Muck-Rake, worked on spelling, read Panamá, summarized The Newcastle Colossus, worked with our debate partner on negative arguments and evidence, discussed America’s role on the world stage, and made homemade apple pie and caramel apples!
